UNAIR NEWS Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programme initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) has massively transformed the learning schemes employed by most universities nationwide. The new learning scheme is expected to generate alumni with prospective skill Universitas Airlangga, home to 15 faculties and 1 school, has actively participated in this programme, and the Faculty of Humanities (FIB UNAIR) is not exempt.
The Dean of FIB UNAIR, Prof. Purnawan Basundoro, confided in an interview session held with UNAIR NEWS on Friday evening (29/10), about the various programmes that FIB UNAIR has conducted in order to support Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programme. There are at least three programmes which have been successfully conducted, and the very first was a promotional campaign regarding the programme to the head of study programmes and lecturers across the faculty.
"This socialization process has been continuously carried out," said Prof. Purnawan.
Secondly, FIB UNAIR has designed specific guidelines detailing terms of conduct of the programme, which summarises what sort of programme, what sort of activities, and what other terms have to be considered upon designing a programme related to MBKM.
"It is hoped that this MBKM Implementation Guide can become a guideline for implementing the Independent Campus at FIB," said Prof. Purnawan.
Last but not least, FIB UNAIR has deployed some of its students to participate in an internship programme. Students of Historical Studies are able to join the programme, thanks to the funding provided by Kemendikbudristek through the PKKM programme.
“Alhamdulillah, our study programme in historical studies has been successfully selected for the PPKM competition, and is therefore entitled to grants amounting to 2.4 billion rupiahs for the implementation of Kampus Merdeka programme.”
FIB UNAIR, he added, applauded the achievement since it allows them to provide opportunities for students to join internship programme, field jobs and many more. Prof. Purnawan revealed that students from Indonesian literary and linguistic studies have successfully conducted community development programme in Desa Kalanganyar. FIB UNAIR has also sent their students to participate in Kampus Mengajar programme, research, and even IISMA.
"This means that in general, starting from the socialization process, carrying out the design, formulating the activity design, along with all the guidelines and implementation, it has been carried out at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences," concluded Prof. Purnawan. (*)
