Definition of Internship / Work Practice
An internship program is an activity undertaken by students to apply their general and specific knowledge, attitudes, and skills in a workplace setting. The duration of the internship is a minimum of 6 months and may be extended according to the regulations or agreement between the home institution and the Internship Workplace. Students are required to be guided by an internal supervisor from UNAIR (Universitas Airlangga) and an external supervisor from the Internship Workplace.

Any form of legal or non-legal business, owned by individuals, partnerships, or state-owned legal entities that employ workers and provide wages or other forms of compensation.
Social enterprises and other organizations that have management and employ other individuals by providing wages or other forms of compensation.

The implementation procedures for this internship program are as follows:
The Faculty/Institution/Work Unit and the Internship Workplace establish or already have a Cooperation Agreement (Perjanjian Kerjasama/MoU/MoA).
The Faculty/Institution/Work Unit announces the available internship locations that can be chosen by students.
Student registration is divided into 2 (two) methods:
- Certified Student Internship Program (Program Magang Mahasiswa Bersertifikat) – Students apply through DPKKA (Academic and Career Development Center) following the relevant terms and conditions.
- Regular Internship Program and other programs – Students apply through their respective Faculties/Study Programs according to the applicable terms and conditions.
- After completing the registration process, the Faculty/Institution/Work Unit facilitates the matching process between students and companies, and then announces the results to the students.
- Students undergo the internship process under the guidance of UNAIR and the Internship Workplace.
- Upon completing the internship within the designated timeframe, students receive an industry/competency certificate.
- Students prepare a written report, which should be submitted to the Faculty/Institution/Work Unit.
- The respective student’s study program administrator converts the grades based on the students' activities and inputs them into the cyber campus system.
- The study program submits reports on the website http://pendidikan.unair.ac.id/akmdikti.
Grade Conversion
The grading conversion process is carried out according to the following mechanisms:
Internship Workplace certificates are converted based on the grading system applicable at Universitas Airlangga.
In accordance with SNDIKTI regulations, 1 credit unit for an internship is equivalent to all activities at the Internship Workplace for 45 hours per semester.
The maximum number of credits for an internship is 40 credits, completed within 2 semesters.
The internship can be converted into course credits by either of the following methods:
- Converted into an Internship course within the equivalent Study Program for 20 credits through assessment by the conversion team in the Study Program.
- Converted into several courses within the equivalent Study Program, reflecting the activities undertaken during the internship.
